FITUR 2026: LEVEL presents with Promperú the only direct flight between Barcelona and Lima

LEVEL, the long-haul airline based in Barcelona, and PROMPERÚ, the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Export and Tourism, have presented within the framework of FITUR the new direct route between Barcelona and Lima, a strategic connection that will begin operating on June 3, 2026.

With this new route, LEVEL will become the only airline offering direct, non-stop flights between the two cities, strengthening air connectivity between Europe and Latin America and contributing to the growth of tourism, cultural exchange, and business flows between Spain and Peru.

The presentation of this new connection took place during FITUR, in a meeting with the media in which representatives of LEVEL and PROMPERÚ highlighted the positive impact of this route for both tourism and the economy, as well as the key role of air connectivity in strengthening relations between both countries.

The event featured the participation of Rafael Jiménez Hoyos, CEO of LEVEL; Braian Schuld, Head of Global Sales at LEVEL; and María Del Sol Velásquez García, Director of Tourism Promotion at PROMPERÚ, who highlighted the opportunities opened by this new direct connection between Europe and Peru.

For her part, María Del Sol Velásquez, Director of Tourism Promotion at PROMPERÚ noted: "This new non-stop route between the Catalan capital and Peru will significantly contribute to strengthening tourism and commercial flows. Spain, as the main European source market for travelers to Peru, plays a key role in driving tourism to our country. We invite Spanish travelers to discover Peru, a unique destination that captivates with its culture, nature, gastronomy, and tourism products aligned with the latest trends."

The new route will initially offer three weekly frequencies, significantly expanding travel options between both markets and providing a direct alternative from Barcelona, one of the main airports in southern Europe. This connection will bring Peru closer to European travelers and, in turn, make it easier for Peruvian travelers to access Barcelona and its network of destinations in Europe.

Lima: strategic destination

Lima, the capital of Peru, is one of the most dynamic destinations in Latin America and an international benchmark in history, culture, and gastronomy, as well as an important gateway for discovering other destinations in the country. This new direct connection will help boost its positioning in the European market and strengthen tourist flows between both territories.

With this new route, LEVEL continues expanding its long-haul network from Barcelona and reinforces its commitment to Latin America as a strategic market, consolidating its role as a key player in intercontinental connectivity from the city.
